The Duxbury Music Department offers a variety of courses for students interested in singing at Duxbury High School, Duxbury Middle School, and Alden. The choral department is comprised of Alden Chorus, 6th Grade Chorus, 7th & 8th Grade Mixed Chorus, 7th & 8th Grade Concert Chorus, DHS Concert Choir, DHS Chorale, and the DHS Chamber Singers.
There are also several extra-curricular groups and activities for singers. Students at the high school are welcome to participate in the musical, PAC Men, and Here Comes Treble.
The Duxbury Choral Department offers a wide range of performance opportunities for all ensembles. The DHS choruses have performed for the Town of Duxbury’s Memorial Day Ceremonies, Martin Luther King Jr. Day Celebrations, Holly Days Tree Lighting, and at Walt Disney World in Florida.
Chamber Singers, the select advanced choral ensemble at DHS, have performed around the United States at venues such as Carnegie Hall in New York City, Strathmore Hall in Maryland, and Jordan Hall in Boston. They have collaborated with ensembles such as The College of Wooster Chorus, The United States Army Field Band and Soliders' Chorus, Monte Sant' Angelo Mercy College Chorus and Band from Syndey, Australia and the Plymouth Philharmonic Orchestra.
