DPS will provide Translation and Interpretation Services to facilitate communication with non-English-speaking parents/guardians. Translation and Interpretation Services can assist & support students and families.

Translation Services

Are available for any document that informs parents/guardians about services, events, or other essential information that would affect their ability to a) choose to participate or b) know the procedure for participation in a school or district-sponsored program. Duxbury utilizes Faculty, Propio Language Services, and Partners Interpreting for American Sign Language (ASL).

Examples: Report Cards, Individualized Education Plans, Newsletter, Flyers, Co-Curricular events, or Athletic events

Interpretation Services

Oral translations may be needed for parent conferences, Individual Education Plan (IEP) meetings, 504 Plan meetings, Disciplinary Hearings and any other meetings which parents are required to attend.
