Alden PTA, along with the 5th grade student council is happy to announce a new planting initiative to help our 5th graders leave behind a legacy and beautify the school for years to come. Beginning this year, every 5th grader will get to plant a daffodil bulb in the front of the school and be able to watch it grow throughout the year.
In order to make this happen, we need all willing and able hands to help prep the ground in front of the school on Wednesday, as well as parent volunteers to assist with the plantings on Thursday and Friday. No gardening experience required. We will show you what to do. If we have enough people, the ground prep shouldn't take more than an hour or so.
Please bring any of the following gardening tools you can: shovels, hoes, wheelbarrows and gloves.
We are also looking for bulb food and mulch donations, and someone with a truck with a dump sticker to dump the debris we remove.
A separate sign up genius will be sent out for Thursday and Friday planting sessions.
Thank you in advance. We can't do it without you!
