The Duxbury Boys and Girls Crews continued their strong start to the spring season with a tie for first place at the Harvard Henley Regatta, racing against league powerhouses Brookline, Wayland-Weston and hosts Bromfield Acton-Boxborough.  At the conclusion of the 22-race event, both Duxbury and Brookline had won an identical number of points.

Duxbury was bolstered by strong results from the Girls crews, who captured wins in the Girls 1st and 2nd Varsity eights, as well as the Girls Novice Four.  The Duxbury Boys 1st Varsity boat posted the fastest overall time of the day in the preliminaries while upsetting a strong Wayland-Weston crew, the '23 State Champs, before falling to Brookline in the final to finish second overall.

The Boys 2nd Eight finished a strong third place, beating Bromfield Acton-Boxborough by a large margin in their final.  The Duxbury Boys  also represented strongly in the Fours competition in the afternoon, capturing first place in the 2nd Varsity Fours, and second in the First Varsity Fours.

"These were very strong results from both squads today, a full team effort" said Duxbury head coach Oli Rosenbladt.  "Our Girls crews continue to set the pace in the league, while the Boys have shown really good speed against the top programs in the state thus far.  We're happy about where we are at this point in the season, and are looking forward to our league races in the coming weeks."

Duxbury Crew is next in action with a double-header on the weekend of April 27th and 28th.  On the 27th, the team will face a mix of public and private school opponents at the Quinsigamond Cup regatta in Worcester, and on Sunday the 28th heads to Hingham for its annual neighborhood grudge match with the Harbormen and Women.
